Sat Chit Ananda – The Meaning Behind the Words
Sat Chit Ananda – More Than Words
Truth. Consciousness. Bliss.
Three simple words. One ancient Sanskrit expression with a meaning that reaches far beyond its translation.
Sat Chit Ananda is a concept rooted in Indian philosophy and is often used to describe the nature of our deepest self – a state of being connected to truth, awareness and inner joy.
At Yggdrasil by Sweden, these words became the inspiration for our Sat Chit Ananda Ring. A simple piece of jewelry carrying a message we believe is worth returning to, again and again.
What does Sat Chit Ananda mean?
The Sanskrit expression is made up of three words:
Sat – truth, existence, that which is real.
Chit – consciousness, awareness.
Ananda – bliss, inner joy.
Together, Sat Chit Ananda is often translated as “Truth, Consciousness, Bliss.”
But its meaning is deeper than three separate words.
In Indian philosophical traditions, particularly Vedanta, Sat Chit Ananda points towards our essential nature – the idea that beneath everything we do, achieve, worry about and identify with, there is something deeper: pure being, awareness and a sense of wholeness.
You don't need to practise yoga, meditate every morning or understand Sanskrit philosophy to find something meaningful in that idea.
Sometimes, it can simply be a reminder to come back to yourself.
A small reminder in everyday life
Life has a way of pulling our attention in every direction.
There are things to accomplish, people to take care of, messages to answer and expectations to meet. Days can pass quickly while our minds are already somewhere else – thinking about what happened yesterday or what needs to happen tomorrow.
That's why we love the idea of carrying a small reminder with you.
The words Sat Chit Ananda are engraved around our ring. They don't need to mean exactly the same thing to everyone.
They might remind you to be present.
To trust what feels true to you.
To notice the good that already exists.
To slow down for a moment.
Or simply to remember who you are underneath all the noise.
Jewelry with meaning
Throughout history, jewelry has been more than decoration.
We wear pieces that remind us of people, places, moments and promises. A ring can mark something important without anyone else knowing what it means.
That is what we wanted the Sat Chit Ananda Ring to be.
From the outside, it is a simple, timeless ring. But engraved into the steel is a message that can become completely personal to the person wearing it.
Perhaps you touch it during a stressful day and remember to take a breath.
Perhaps you see the words while holding your morning coffee and remember to actually be there for that small moment.
Perhaps it simply reminds you that happiness doesn't always have to be something waiting for you somewhere in the future.
Sometimes the most meaningful reminders are the quiet ones.
Made to follow you through everyday life
Our Sat Chit Ananda Ring is made from durable stainless steel and designed to be worn every day. Its adjustable design makes it easy to wear on different fingers and allows the ring to become part of your own personal combination of jewelry.

Simple in form.
Meaningful in message.
What will the words mean to you?
There is something beautiful about an ancient expression continuing to find meaning thousands of years later.
For us, Sat Chit Ananda is not about striving for a perfect state of happiness.
It is a reminder to return to what is already there.
Truth. Awareness. Inner joy.
And perhaps, in the middle of an ordinary day, three small words around your finger can remind you of something you don't want to forget.
Sat Chit Ananda.
A little reminder to come back to yourself.
